Voices Of Dissent
As part of York International Women’s Week, international human rights defenders, hosted by the Centre for Applied Human Rights at the University of York, will perform narratives, poems and conversations inspired by the women who have shaped their lives and human rights work.
Human rights defenders from Iran, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Somalia will take to the stage for this one-time public performance. They will share the stories of unseen women who are changing the world.
The performance will be followed by a Q&A with the speakers and representatives from the Centre for Applied Human Rights.
